Within Alamance Regional’s state-of-the-art Interventional Vascular Lab, an experienced vascular team provides our community with some of the best care available. Board-certified vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists and interventional radiologists perform a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures. These procedures include studies of the arteries, balloon angioplasty, and placement of stents to hold open arteries, as well as removal of plaque and blood clots with catheter-based techniques.
The treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), a serious circulation disorder that affects up to 10 percent of adults, is just one procedure that is performed in Alamance Regional’s Vascular Interventional Lab. Treating PAD with angioplasty and stenting is often effective for patients with moderate to severe narrowing or blockage in one or more blood vessels. Advanced endovascular procedures include abdominal aortic aneurysm (referred to as Triple A) stent graft repair and carotid artery angiography and stenting.
The latest vascular imaging system allows physicians to obtain more precise measurement of blood vessels with lower radiation doses and less contrast material, making vascular procedures safer for patients.
