Every birth is a miracle of life. It is a time for new beginnings, new responsibilities and a new outlook on life and family. That’s why we designed the BirthPlace at Alamance Regional around your personal birth experience. From our spacious, private labor and delivery suites to our expert staff and advanced medical capabilities – including a Level II/III neonatal special care nursery – everything at the BirthPlace is centered around caring for you and your family as you celebrate the miracle of birth.

Birthing Options
In addition to the private practice obstetricians delivering at the BirthPlace, nurse midwife assisted delivery is also available through several of the physician practices. The BirthPlace also recognizes the skills practiced by a licensed Doula and welcomes the knowledge and support they can share with families throughout the birth experience.  Should a Cesarean birth be required, the BirthPlace has dedicated state-of-the-art surgical suites and recovery rooms on the birthing unit, just steps away from your delivery room.

The BirthPlace offers a wide variety of pain management options 24-hours a day. These include epidural anesthesia, spinal narcotic analgesia, and intravenous and intramuscular narcotics. If you prefer to deliver without anesthesia, our labor and delivery nurses can help you with breathing and relaxation techniques.

Beautiful Accomodations
Our private and spacious labor and delivery suites combine the comforts of home with the advanced technology of our medical center. Each suite features a special birthing bed, a convenient fold-down bed, a private bath with seated shower and shower massage, mini-refirgerator, TV/DVD player, and private phone.  

Following birth you will moved to one our private rooms with a spacious picture window and a chair that opens to become a sleeper. Perhaps best of all, a relaxing and rejuvenating massage by a certified massage therapist is available for our new moms.
