An expert team of skilled surgeons, experienced nurses and sophisticated technology have made Alamance Regional a leader in surgical care. A visual mapping system in our surgical suites includes computerized mapping equipment for many procedures, such as sinus surgeries and total joint knee replacements. This leading-edge system provides surgeons with a visual display that creates ultimate precision in navigation and surgery.

We offer a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures for adults and children. Alamance Regional Mebane Surgery Center also offers advanced ambulatory surgical care in a state-of-the-art facility.

Cancer & General Surgery
Surgeons on the Alamance Regional medical staff work closely with oncologists, radiologists and other specialists to provide state-of-the-art options in cancer surgery. A high percentage of our breast cancer patients are able to have lumpectomies. Gynecologic and thoracic oncology specialists work with area surgeons in the treatment of lung, esophageal, uterine, ovarian and cervical cancer. Our medical staff also has extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic surgeries for the repair or removal of the spleen, colon, gallbladder and other organs. 

Bariatric Surgery - Experienced bariatric surgeons offer laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric band and laparoscopic gastric bypass procedures.  A bariatric surgery support group meets monthly on the Alamance Regional campus.

Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery
Alamance Regional offers state-of-the-art technology and procedures in ear, nose and throat surgery. The latest image-guided sinus surgery system allows 3-D visualization, making the surgery safer and more complete. Other surgeries include correction of nasal obstruction, pediatric procedures, and surgery for sleep disorders.

Eye Surgery
Experienced ophthalmologists offer a range of surgical procedures, including the latest cataract implant– the AcrySof™ ReSTOR™ IOL. This lens implant is helping many patients function without glasses following cataract surgery.

Facial and Plastic Surgery
Alamance Regional’s medical staff includes a fellowship-trained, board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. All facets of facial plastic surgery are offered, including specialized nasal reshaping and reconstruction.

Foot Surgery (Podiatry)
Podiatrists perform pediatric and adult flat foot reconstructive surgery, ankle and foot arthroscopy, surgery for bunion deformities, and other foot surgeries.

Gynecological and Urogynecological Surgery
Alamance Regional was one of the first hospitals in the state to offer laparoscopic vaginal and laparoscopic supercervervical vaginal hysterectomies. These minimally invasive procedures help patients heal more quickly. We also offer advanced techniques for incontinence treatment and a range of other gynecological and urogynecological surgeries.

Prostate, Bladder and Kidney Surgery
A staff of experienced urologists offers patients leading-edge technology for the treatment of benign prostate conditions, prostate cancer, and bladder and kidney disease. Laparoscopic kidney surgery allows the non-cancerous portion of the kidney to maintain function.

Vascular Surgery
Board-certified vascular surgeons offer the most advanced treatment for thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery stenting, deep vein thrombosis and peripheral artery disease.
