The Village at Brookwood and Edgewood Place, both located on Brookwood Avenue in Burlington, have earned a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. The five-star rating is the highest rating a care facility can earn and indicates the facility is much above average quality. Out of 422 nursing facilities in North Carolina, only 60 currently have a five-star rating.
Ratings are based on three years of on-site health inspections; ten quality measures; and staffing, which includes the number of hours of care on average provided to each resident each day by nursing staff. The rating system was designed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily.
The Village at Brookwood, a continuing care retirement community, and Edgewood Place, a skilled nursing facility, are affiliated with Alamance Regional Medical Center.
“Our staff members strive to provide the very best care and services to our residents,” says Dan Cuthriell, Executive Director, The Village at Brookwood. “The five-star rating affirms our commitment to high standards and excellent care.”
