Alamance Regional Medical Center is one of four hospitals in North Carolina to be named a 2011 Top Performing Hospital in a national healthcare collaborative. The Premier healthcare alliance’s national QUEST® collaborative has identified 123 hospitals nationwide, including Alamance Regional, that achieved care outcomes that earned a Top Performance award.
The QUEST Top Performing hospitals increased delivery of evidence-based care, saved lives by reducing avoidable hospital mortalities, and safely reduced the cost of care for each patient’s hospitalization
“By collaborating with other hospitals to share our patient outcomes and best care practices, we are able to enhance the care we provide to patients while also taking a leadership role in driving better results within the healthcare industry,” says John Currin, President and CEO, Alamance Regional. “Participating in the QUEST program is also helping us improve patient safety while reducing the cost of care and readmissions.”
In the last 30 months, hospitals participating in the QUEST collaborative have reduced healthcare spending by $2.85 billion through the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. Collaborative members also have a five percent lower mortality rate than hospitals who are not participating in the collaborative.
