Medicare Part D Many lessons were learned in the first year of Medicare D.
If you are left with questions, feel free to contact us at AlaMAP. We will be glad to help you.
If your income is less than $14,700 for a single person; $19,800 for a couple, and you have limited money available in the bank, you may be eligible for the government's extra help called 'low income subsidy'. We can help you apply for this, or you can go to Social Security to apply.
“Doughnut Hole:” (after you reach $2,400 in total drug costs or $750 out-of-pocket), patient pays 100% of the drug costs; Medicare pays 0% of the drug costs. This does not apply to people who receive the low income subsidy. Those people have no "doughnut hole".
If you are going to reach the "doughnut hole" some patient assistance programs will help in 2007. Call AlaMAP for more information. We are offering sessions to explain all of this on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 3pm. Call 538-8440 to register; space is limited.
We can help if you are on medicines that are not on your plan's formulary. Call us at 538-8440.
