Endoscopy and GI Procedures
Five board-certified physicians perform more than 8,000 gastroenterology procedures each year in a state-of-the-art endoscopy unit at Alamance Regional. These procedures are designed to diagnose illnesses or abnormalities of the digestive system. These services include:
- Colonoscopy
- Endoscopy
- Video capsule study
- pH monitoring, a 48-hour test of acidity in the esophagus
- Esophageal motility study, which measures activity in the esophagus
- ECRP, a procedure used to remove gallstones or help diagnose other diseases of the common bile duct
