Diabetes Intensive Self-Management
Participants receive a comprehensive diabetes evaluation, attend educational classes and receive individual counseling. Our program covers the following topics: what is diabetes, who is at risk, benefits of diet and exercise, use and safety of medications, insulin administration, carbohydrate counting, and an introduction to insulin pumps.

This class is offered at the Grand Oaks Center on the Alamance Regional Campus and at Mebane Medical Park. Classes available in Spanish.

Gestational Diabetes Education
This program is for pregnant women with gestational diabetes. Participants attend two classes and receive individual counseling. Patients learn about gestational diabetes, who is at risk, and the benefits of diet and exercise. They are also given a blood glucose meter, instructed in the use of the meter, and instructed in urine testing for ketones.

This class is offered at the Grand Oaks Center on the Alamance Regional Campus. Classes available in Spanish.

Insulin Pump Program
Our insulin pump program provides an introduction to pump therapy and the pumps available, and an assessment of patient needs.
