We never know when the unexpected might come our way – the loss of a job, a major illness, or a change in benefits. Alamance Regional is committed to providing compassionate care for everyone who is sick or injured, regardless of their ability to pay. Patients who are unable to pay their entire bill, should contact Patient Financial Services to make payment arrangements or apply for financial assistance.
Our assistance includes investigating alternative sources of funding to pay the account. We accept credit cards and routinely offer interest-free, monthly payment arrangements up to 12 months. We can work with anyone who cannot pay their account in 12 months on a case-by-case basis. Alamance Regional will recognize patients who receive urgent or emergent care as medically indigent if their family income falls below 150 percent of federal poverty guidelines and if they have no other source of payment available. A portion of the bill can be written off when family income falls between 150 and 300 percent of poverty guidelines. Forms to request medially indigent adjustment are available at all registration areas, cashier desks, the business office in the Grand Oaks building, or by mail. Financial assistance is available for both uninsured and underinsured patients.

Billing and Insurance
As a courtesy to patients, we will bill your insurance company for you. In order to expedite this process, patients need to provide us with accurate, up-to-date insurance information at the time of registration. Approximately thirty days after discharge, you will receive a statement of your hospital charges. This is not a bill. After we receive a statement from your insurance company, we will send you a bill that indicates how much insurance paid and how much you owe Alamance Regional. If you have questions about your statement or your bill, please call (336) 538-8400.
