Do you need an urgent care clinic or should you go to the emergency department?

Urgent Care

Urgent care is designed to quickly and efficiently treat common, routine illnesses, minor accidents and provide exams for employment, school and camps.

Common conditions treated at Alamance Regional’s Mebane Urgent Care include:

  • Auto accident injuries
  • Allergy symptoms
  • Bladder infections
  • Childhood illnesses
  • Cold or flu symptoms
  • Cuts, bruises and burns
  • Dehydration (IV treatments)
  • Digital X-rays
  • Ear and eye infections
  • Headaches and migraines
  • On-site lab tests
  • Pulled or strained muscles
  • Respiratory infections
  • Skin conditions
  • Sore throats
  • Sprains or fractures
  • Sutures
  • Urinary tract infections

Emergency Dept.

For more serious conditions, the Alamance Regional Medical Center Emergency Department, or your closest hospital, is appropriate.

If you are not sure if you can safely get to the Emergency Department on your own, call 911.

Conditions that should be treated in the Emergency Department include:

  • Life threatening emergencies
  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Obvious fractures
  • Severe bleeding
  • Pregnancy related problems
  • Stroke or a change in mental status
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Severe headache
  • Severe cuts/lacerations
  • Amputations
  • Unexpected changes in your vision
