The board-certified obstetricians and certified nurse midwives who deliver at the BirthPlace have extensive training and experience with vaginal and cesarean births. Our nurses hold certifications in obstetrics, neonatal care and childbirth education.
Our dedicated, caring staff provides sophisticated health care for mothers and their infants, including:
- Level II/Level III Neonatal Nursery Our Special Care Nursery provides care to infants as young as 30 weeks and as small as 2.2 pounds. It is staffed full-time by Duke University neonatologists.
- High-risk Pregnancy and Preconception Care Duke University perinatologists work closely with area obstetricians to care for mothers who may have high-risk pregnancies. Learn more about our Perinatal Clinic.
- Lactation Services Certified lactation consultants help Mom and baby with breastfeeding.
