Endoscopy and GI Procedures

At Alamance Regional we are committed to helping you understand your condition and, with the help of your physician, make the best possible choice to treat it. Gastroenterology surgical procedures help many people regain their health and live more comfortably and happily.

Five board-certified physicians perform more than 8,000 gastroenterology procedures each year in a state-of-the-art endoscopy unit at Alamance Regional. These procedures are designed to diagnose illnesses or abnormalities of the digestive system. These services include:

  • Colonoscopy
  • Endoscopy
  • pH monitoring, a 48-hour test of acidity in the esophagus
  • ECRP, a procedure used to remove gallstones or help diagnose other diseases of the common bile duct
  • Esophageal motility study, which measures activity in the esophagus
  • Video capsule study
