Alamance Regional Medical Center offers an employee assistance counseling program (EACP) that provides confidential, professional counseling for both personal and work-related problems. The program helps with problems ranging from alcohol and drug abuse to job conflicts, marital problems, depression, grief, and stress. Research shows that 75 percent of employees who are disciplined at work have a personal or family problem that is affecting job performance. If the problem is severe, that employee can also affect the safety, security, morale, and productivity of co-workers. Studies have also proven that a depressed employee uses four times as many medical services and has increased absenteeism and decreased work quality.
